The program design is inspired by management practice rather than ivory tower academics. The course material and design is oriented towards current and emerging issues in management. The curriculum undergoes a complete transformation every three years. In addition, it is adapted significantly every year to keep it abreast with the current business environment. The faculty members keep themselves updated on present management realities by virtue of their extensive involvement in research and consultation.

National Institute of Management, Mumbai has signed a MOU with Vinayaka Mission Research Foundation, a Salem-based university to launch a two-year twin Programme in MBA combining post-graduation course with our very own PGDBM.

Vinayaka Mission's University was established in the year 2001 as a 48th University in India. The university status was conferred by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India with the recommendations of UGC (Established Under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956) to Vinayaka Mission as an acknowledgement of excellence and satisfaction for the highest levels of academic standards and its best infrastructure facilities provided to achieve excellence in education.

The MBA with integrated PGDBM Programme enables students in developing skills in leading and teamwork is an important facet of the program. This anticipates practices in many of today's successful organizations. If the students opt to be awarded the MBA degree from either of the Universities with which we have an affiliation, they need to give an additional examination paper at the end of the term of PGDBM at NIM. The student has to pay Rs. 60000/- in addition to the PGDBM Fee of NIM.. The fee details are given on the website.

The students will be awarded an MBA degree by the university and PGDBM certificate by the National Institute of Management, Mumbai.
